Elliott Street, Silsden, Keighley, West Yorkshire BD20 0AW
As a school we are very proud of our attendance figures but are always looking at ways to improve them.
We appreciate the valuable input that you as parents/carers have in ensuring your child is at school on time every day and also ensuring you telephone school as soon as possible to let us know if your child is ill.
We do appreciate that this may be the last thing on your mind when your child is ill so please do not be offended when we ring or text to check on your childs absence. We have been following this procedure for some time now and parents comment that they do welcome a gentle reminder at times.
We continue to monitor attendance as part of our commitment to the schools child protection & safeguarding policy and as such we will be introducing new reward systems during the term.
We will display each classes attendance weekly on the noticeboards around school and in main reception.
You will also be able to see best weekly class attendance displayed here on this page.
The class with the highest weekly attendance will also be recognised in the weekly Key Stage assemblies. (No individual child will be mentioned) and that class will then be invited to wear non school uniform on the following Monday.
In addition to recognition in school certificates will be sent home half termly for the children who attend the following:
100% attendance (and a small prize/reward)
Improved attendance from previous half term.
As parents/carers you will also receive a letter home every term to update you on your child's attendance.
If you would like to discuss your child's attendance you can contact Mrs Bottomley (Head Teacher) or Mrs Heslop (Parental Involvement Officer) in school.
We thank you for your continued support!
