This week the children designed their own Hair and Beauty Salon. They then practised some of the skills they have been learning on the mannequins. They braided and plaited the mannequins hair and they even managed to put rollers in without getting all tangled up!
This week the children were learning all about hair braiding. They started by designing their own hair braids. Then Mrs Lambert braided the children's hair using some beautiful bright braids. The children will later have an opportunity to braid each others hair using their own designs.
This week the children learned all about hairdressing skills. The had an opportunity to wash and dry mannequins hair. They brushed out all the tangles and added rollers, plaits and braids, veils and tiaras! They all had a great time and worked really hard.
This week the children were learning all about nail care. The learned how to do a hand massage and applying nail varnish.
They worked with a partner and cooperated extremely well, this was a great start to the course.
This was the final day of the course and the children worked hard on their own nail art designs. Then they applied their designs on to a partners nails using a variety of a colours and embellishments such as gems, stars and pearls!
This week the children opened their own 'Nail Salon' and invited either their Mum, Gran or Aunty into school for a manicure.
They had a brilliant time massaging hands, filing nails, applying nail polish and jewels!
They have done a fantastic job and all their clients were extremely impressed. I am sure you will agree the level of skills the children have achieved is amazing!
Next Friday is the final day of the course! The children will share what they have been doing with the rest of the Reception children during our 'Graduation Assembly'.
They will all be awarded with their Degree Certificate by the Head of Aire View University Mrs Bottomley!
This week the children worked in pairs in the 'Aire View Hair Salon' They detangled and combed through a mannequin's hair! They 'washed' 'cut' and 'dried' each others hair and the mannequins . Miss Lambert demonstrated how to plait and add braids and then the children plaited and added braids to each others hair. It was really great fun.
The children were very honoured this week as they were visited by the Dean of Aire View University Mrs Chris Newson. She arrived to verify the quality of the student standards and confirmed that they were met with flying colours. She was extremely impressed by the range of courses the students were involved in and the calibre of the students.
This week the children were learning how to braid and plait hair.
They had great fun choosing from a variety of braids and trying to plait the dolls hair. It was rather tricky but they all tried really hard.
This week the children were learning how to apply hair colour with foils on a mannequin head.
They started by putting the hair into sections, adding the colour (shampoo!) and covering each section with foil. I think you will agree that they did a fantastic job and have easily completed the 'Hair Colouring' module with flying colours!

First Miss Lambert demonstrated how to do a hand massage.
Then the children worked in pairs and practised their newly acquired skills - hand massage, they were fantastic at it!
Next the children prepared their partners nails by carefully removing the cuticles and filing the nails.
Finally they applied nail varnish and transfers, gems on the nails.
It was absolutely amazing to see how well the children worked together and were naturally talented at this! Watch this space to see what they will be doing next week.
