This week the children were learning how to do line printing. They used thick printing ink and thin pieces of card to create the lines. They experimented with the resources initially and then some of the children went on to make images of houses and robots etc. They all had a great time!
This week the children made their own paintbrush using natural materials such as twigs. Once the children had made their paintbrushes then they mixed some power paint. Together they all painted a huge mural which I am sure you will agree is fantastic!
This week the children worked together to make a large jungle mural. They looked carefully at pictures and books of jungle animals and creatures and drew them in great detail. I am sure you will agree they have done a marvellous job.
The children had great fun learning to weave using strips of paper in a variety of colours and textures. They used the railings and short sticks stuck into the ground as a weaving frame! The children worked really well together and produced some lovely work.
This is the final day of the course and the children worked really hard creating more beautiful streamers to add to the garden mobile. They threaded a variety of bottles tops and cut thin tubes independently. I am sure you will agree that they have done an amazing job.
This week the children made a large mobile garden decoration. They twisted and plaited material together to make streamers and carefully treaded beads too. These mobiles will be hung out in the garden when the weather is a little warmer.
Next Friday is the final day of the course! The children will share what they have been doing with the rest of the Reception children during our 'Graduation Assembly'. They will all be awarded with their Degree Certificate by the Head of Aire View University - Mrs Bottomley!
The children have been learning about felt making techniques. They had to carefully pull tufts of wool roving and spread it out carefully. They then layered the wool roving and 'mushed' it in soapy water. Finally they wrapped the wool roving around a large pebble!
The children were very honoured this week as they were visited by the Dean of Aire View University Mrs Chris Newson. She arrived to verify the quality of the student standards and confirmed that they were met with flying colours. She was extremely impressed by the range of courses the students were involved in and the calibre of the students.
This week the children have been learning how to weave using a variety of materials such as twig, string, card, paper and wool. It was quite tricky but the children persisted and tried really hard, here is how they got on.
This week the children started their training inside and they were learning how to plait material.
Once they have mastered this skill they will make a large mobile for the outdoor play area.
They also used slate to create their own designs and made a structure. They have great fun and were really proud of their achievements!
First the children looked at art work created by a variety of artist. The artist all used natural resources such as cones, shells, pebbles, sticks and twigs.
Once the children were inspired they went outdoors and used the resources available and created these amazing pieces of art work!
